Upper Antelope Canyon

The Best Time to visit Upper Antelope Canyon is normally March to October and around 12:00 pm. At that season the light in canyon is best for the photo shooting. However, it is also really crowded during the tourist seasons. Hence, my friend and I decided to visit Page in November. It was started getting cold but have no snow and crowded people. If you hate too many people when you having your tours or want to book the tour at the last moment, November is a good month to visit. No matter which canyon tour you choose, you should always reserve online. The ticket usually sold out when you get to the front desk.

During the tour, the tour guide will not only introduce those most famous shooting spots but also assist you in taking pictures, so don't worry you won't get the good photo.  All the photo post on this website was taken by my phone. You can easily beat me if you have a better camera or shooting skill! Most of the famous spots look like animals, you may play the guessing game with your friends and families.

Compared with Lower Antelope Canyon, the tour trail is more user-friendly. You do not need to climb the stair up and down. I would recommend visiting both but if you or your company is not suitable for climbing stairs, Upper Antelope Canyon is related friendly.

Lower Antelope Canyon

As I mentioned in Upper Antelope Canyon, Lower Antelope Canyon is more challenged than Upper Antelope Canyon. It required climbing around the canyon. However, I think is this is the funniest part. I choice Ken's tours for this trip and really satisfied with their service. Our guide is super interesting and very skillful in taking pictures. If your iPhone has Pano mode, your guide can assist you with taking cool photos as below.

There is also a coffee and gift shop at Ken's tour. You can buy beautiful postcards and gifts to your friends. The coffee shop is amazing too. It is always good to have an afternoon tea after the tour. Their almond small cake with coffee is amazingly delicious. I did not try their pumpkin pie but it looks good too.

Glen Canyon Dam

If you still have time after the tour, Glen Canyon Dam is a good place to visit too. The giant dam is worth to take a look. There are a few parking places near the bridge or you can just park at Carl Hayden Visitor Center at Glen Canyon Dam. There are also restrooms in the visitor center.

Horseshoe Bend

If you plan to visit Upper or Lower Antelope Canyon at noon, you can go Horseshoe Bend in the morning or afternoon. The Colorado River cut through the land deeply to make the horseshoe-shaped landscape is gorgeous. It required climbing to the viewpoint too. The parking lot begin to charge since April 2019, but there is no extra fee for viewpoint so far.

Careful when you trying to take the risky picture. People fall because of taking pictures there every year!

Navajo Bridge

Navajo Bridge was not in our travel plan, but I am glad we found this unexpected place. The historic and new bridges across the Colorado River with beautiful Glen Canyon as background. It is a nice place to take a walk during the trip. There is a visitor center nearby the bridges for you to rest.
